When we get something wrong, we correct it quickly and openly.
Reporting an error
Email hello@watchnetwork.global with the page address and what is wrong. A link to a source that shows the correct information helps us act quickly.
What we do
- We check every report against the sources, normally within two working days.
- If a fact is wrong, we correct the page and add a dated note at the end saying what changed.
- If a whole story turns out to be wrong, we say so on the page rather than quietly removing it.
- Small fixes that do not change the meaning, such as spelling, are made without a note.
Data articles
If a source revises its figures after we publish, we update the article, note the revision and the date, and keep the earlier figure on record.
